Moroccan Touch - 10 days

This trip is a favourite amoung travellers who seek the ultimate visit of the famous ochre city Marrakech, who want to visit ancient villages and Kasbahs in Ait Benhaddou and N'kob, who want to spend a night in the spectacular desert of Erg Lihoudi and who also want to relax in the gated warm city of Taroudant and the pretty coastal fishing city of Essaouira. You will be able to get an overall idea of how Moroccan people lived centuries ago. You will also discover Moroccan culture and nature.

Day 1:    Marrakech

Upon arrival to Marrakech, you will be transferred to your hotel. You are free for the rest of the day to explore the city. Marrakech is magical. Exotic, full of history and overwhelming, it is the most famous and visited city in Morocco. Know as the Red city mainly because of the predominant color of its buildings, it has been Morocco's capital in the past, represents the most important Imperial city and boasts a perfect location right at the foot of the High Atlas mountains. On this day, we strongly recommend a visit of the amazing hectic Jemaa El Fna which comes alive after dark. You will experience a memorable mix of smells, sounds and sights. For dinner, why not try one of the outdoor food stalls which offer a variety of food and for the most adventurous, you can try the snails or the cooked sheep head. You will spend this first night in Marrakech.

Day 2:    Marrakech

Today we are taking you back through Marrakech history! Accompanied by a local guide, a half day walking tour will enable you to discover:
• Some of the most important historical sites of Marrakech:Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Ben Youssef Medresa, Koutoubia Mosque with its hispano-moorish style which represents one fine Almohad masterpiece (outside only), the famous square Djemaa El Fna
• The Old Medina: The Medina is full of intertwining narrow passageways and local shops full of character. Your senses will be reeling in this medieval medina.
• The Souks (Markets): A real paradise for shopping lovers, you will find different crafts being sold in different areas of the Souks: Slippers, musical instruments, dried fruit, the leathers goods, lamps and lanterns, wool dyers, the brass and copperware...
This half day tour will be done on foot, since most of the medina is closed to traffic (Should you be staying outside the medina, transport to/from the medina is at your own expense).
NB: If you are willing to visit the famous gardens of Marrakech (Majorelle, Menara), we could arrange a full day guided visit with transport.
The second night will be spent in a hotel in Marrakech.

Day 3:    Marrakech - Ait Benhaddou

After breakfast, you pick up your car which will be delivered to your hotel. You can then start your journey towards Ait Benhaddou via the Tiz-n-Tichka pass which offers some beautiful sceneries. Kasbah Ait Benhaddou is a UNESCO world heritage site where many famous movies have been shot. With its architectural authenticity and pre-Saharan construction techniques, the mud clay village of Ait Benhaddou will take you back centuries. After arrival to the picturesque Ait Benhaddou around midday, you will have lunch on a sunny terrace while enjoying the views of the Kasbah and the beautiful surroundings. In the afternoon you will stroll through its kasbah. You can then take a ride to the nearby villages like Tamedaght. The night will be spent in Ait Benhaddou.
