Heritage of Georgetown & Wilderness of Royal Belum - 6 days

Since the 16th century, the small island of Penang, has been a perfet place to stop for traders sailing Far East. Today Penang is a modern and well developed Island-City, still able to offer the biggest Heritage Buildings in South East Asia. Not far from Penang, the Belum and Temenggoh Parks, is a good combination for Nature lover's. The Belum and Temenggoh Rainforest are home of Asian Elephants and the Malayan Tigers. You can combine the East Coast Islands after this module.

Day 1:    Arrive Penang
 
 

Arrive in Penang International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in the city centre. The rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight in Penang.
Penang is an island near the Straits of Melaka which has developed over 500 years of trading and cultural exchanges between East and West. The historic capital of George Town represents the British era from the end of the 18th century. Wander through the heritage backstreets to discover the street art, temples, mosques, and above all the delicious Indian and Chinese food where Penang is known for. Out of the town you will find the impressive Kok Lok Si Temple, and the jungle forest at the smallest National Park in Malaysia. The beautiful beach locations give you an opportunity either to relax and unwind, or to enjoy all kinds of water sports.

Day 2:    Penang
 
 

Name after King George III of England - George Town, being the oldest city in Malaysia that remains unchanged till this day where old COLONIAL BUILDINGS with narrow streets are found. Move on to a Burmese & Thai Temple to discover the famous and most beautiful GOLDEN RECLINING BUDDHA statue. Next visit the STATE MUSEUM to understand the local cultures of various races and the early history of Penang. Proceed to the British built FORT where the old structure and cannons are still intact. Pass by the clock tower and proceed to the waterfront where a walk down the CLAN JETTY on the wooden platform where houses are built on stilt and a view of Penang Bridge. A slow drive through LITTLE INDIA, CHINA TOWN and find out how Church, Chinese Temple, Indian Temple and Muslim Mosque are located just steps away from each other at STREET OF HARMONY. (Breakfast)

Day 3:    Penang
 
 

Breakfast at hotel. Free at leisure. Overnight. (Breakfast)

Day 4:    Penang - Belum Rainforest
 
 

After breakfast, check-out and drive up to Belum Rainforest via small town of Grik. Arrive hotel, check-in. Overnight in Belum Rainforest Resort.
The Belum Rainforest Resort is an ecotourism holiday destination, set in the midst of the tropical rainforest at Pulau Banding. The resort offers both complete relaxation in a stunning environment, and the adventure to get close to nature. Pulau Banding is a man-made island located within the majestic Temenggor Lake. Sitting amidst the 130 million-year old Belum-Temengor Rainforest, this tropical paradise is home to a vast number of species of animals and plants, many of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. You can look forward to indulging in nature based activities and visiting orang asli settlements. (Breakfast)

Day 5:    Belum Rainforest
 
 

Start off your morning with a boat ride to the Sungai Gadong Rafflesia sites. Depending on the budding areas, there might be a short 20-30 minute trek up a slope before spotting the Rafflesia.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will spot a Rafflesia in full bloom. However, there are high chances of spotting Rafflesia buds (before they bloom). One has to be lucky to catch a glimpse of the world's largest flower!
Later, proceed by speedboat into the Royal Belum State Park. This 45-minute boat ride brings you to the Ruok Waterfalls, which is also the Belum Fresh Water Fish Sanctuary.
Upon reaching the jetty, trek for about 30-minutes along forest trails before arriving at a majestic Waterfalls. The guides will pass out some fish food so that everyone gets a chance to feed the hundreds of fishes at the sanctuary. There is no better way to cool off in the afternoon heat than by taking a dip in the cool waters of the Waterfall. (Breakfast)

Day 6:    Belum Rainforest
 
 

Breakfast. Check-out and procede to next destination. End of the Services. (Breakfast)
