I think the highlight of our trip was Mai Chau... That was a really good recommendation and we had a lovely guide in Hanoi, Phuong, who even took us to lunch with his parents on the way there. He also took us to visit the H'mong hill tribe and cycling through paddy fields. It seems to be a very undervisited part of Vietnam and on our second night in the Mai Chau lodge there were only 2 couples staying there. It was also great to escape polluted Hanoi for a couple of nights although we became quite skillful at scooter dodging by the end! - Penelope & Richard
