Discovering The Berber Region - 6 days

This trip will enable you to discover the Souss Region which is famous for its nature and berber culture. You will start with the walled city of Taroudant then the oasis of Tafraoute and finally, the beach resort city of Agadir. First Taroudant, also called 'Little Marrakech'. It is surrounded by huge well-preserved red walls and ideally positioned between the mountains. Taroudant is a great place to explore real Moroccan culture and environment. Then Tafraoute which is nestled in the Anti-Atlas mountains. It is a village surrounded by rocks and mountains. It is a pleasant and relaxed place where you will be able to wander around the 26 villages of the Ameln Valley. Finally, you will head to Agadir, Southern's Morocco major tourist destination where you will relax and enjoy the sun for two days.

Day 1:    Taroudant

Whether you come from the desert or from Marrakech, you have to stop at the small city of Taroudant for a break. After arrival around midday, you will have lunch then you are free for the rest of the day to stroll, linger and explore all the city has to offer. You should not miss shopping in the famous souqs and visiting the 16th century gates, the ramparts, the Old kasbah quarter and Place Al Alaouyin. The night will be spent in Taroudant.

Day 2:    Taroudant - Tafraoute

There are two roads linking Taroudant to Tafraoute (via Ighrem and via Ait Baha), both are quite impressive. All along the road, you will enjoy beautiful views of kasbah villages perched on top of rocky mountains. If you are lucky, you might even see goats grazing on the trees.  After lunch, you are free to wander around Tafraoute. We strongly recommend visiting the famous blue painted rocks 'Les Pierres Bleues'. The night will be spent in a hotel in the center of Tafraoute.

Day 3:    Tafraoute

After breakfast, a half day walk in Ameln Valley has been arranged for you. The hike will start in the village of Oumesnate. You will then walk through or above many small villages in the area. In the afternoon, you are free to do more hiking. We strongly recommend a visit to Tazka where there is a prehistoric carving of a gazelle. If you are interested in discovering the region by bike, then you are welcome to check our optional excursion: Cycling Tour in Tafraoute.
The night will be spent in Tafraoute.

Day 4:    Tafraoute - Agadir

There is a three hours drive from Tafraoute to Agadir. You will hit the road right after breakfast. After arrival to Agadir, you can have lunch in the Port of Agadir which serves fresh and tasty seafood. You can then walk around the Marina, visit Agadir Oufella and Valley of the Birds. This night will be spent in a hotel in Agadir.

Day 5:    Agadir

On your second day in Agadir, we strongly recommend you visit one of Agadir's surrounding attractions:
• To its north, you will find the small fishing village of Taghazout which is famous for surfing. Our optional surfing excursion will provide an excellent initiation session.
• Inland, there is the beautiful palm grove of Paradise Valley.
• South of Agadir where the beaches are not yet developed: Sidi Rbat which is the nest location in Morocco for birdwatching, Aglou and the old port of Sidi Ifni.
If you do not wish to discover surrounding areas and would rather stay in Agadir, then why not simply relax and suntan on the beach or shop for souvenirs in the famous Souk El Had. This night will also be spent in Agadir.
